On Inheritance: AM Homes, Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor and Jeanette Winterson at the Folio Prize Fiction Fe

The Folio Prize Fiction Festival features authors and critics from The Folio Prize Academy alongside the Prize judges and shortlisted authors. Troubled inheritance has produced countless great plots and almost as many great books. And while modern fiction may not have the same preoccupation with bequests, the broader question of inheritance - how we are formed, consciously and otherwise, by those who come before us - is as lively and pertinent a subject as ever. A.M. Homes is a highly acclaimed and prize-winning author of novels, short stories, journalism, memoir and screenplays. Her most recent novel, May We Be Forgiven, won the Women's Prize for Fiction in 2013. Jeanette Winterson OBE is the multi-prizewinning author of novels (including Oranges are Not the Only Fruit, The Passion and Written on the Body), short stories, memoir, essays, children's books, screenplays and journalism. They are joined by novelist, broadcaster and cultural critic Mark Lawson, whose most recent novel, The Deaths, was published to critical acclaim in 2013.
